The following video clips are designed for use as part of staff development. They are designed as a stimulus to discussion.
Why should we promote social and emotional skills?
When considering whether to embark upon SEAL it is helpful to hear the views of those already involved. These clips show a range of practitioners and pupils talking about some of the reasons why they consider that it is important to promote social and emotional skills.
The following questions might be considered as you watch the clips and discuss with colleagues:
- What are our reasons for implementing SEAL and promoting social and emotional skills?
- Who might we need to explain SEAL too and how might we do this?
